15 min, here we come

May 10th, 2009

If you saw the Starck documentary at the USA film festival, you know who Joseph Alexandre is. He may come over as we’re setting up for the Starck Red party to observe & film us devoted Starckers, and perhaps we’ll get to do an interview or two as well!

In other developments, we are planning away, trying to make the space as great as we can. It’s a lot of work for one night, but we’ve got a lot of great ideas…including a possible auction of original Starck Club items. Now, THAT would be FABULOUS!

Starck anniversary

May 4th, 2009

What a journey this has become in planning a party for the masses! As I started this project of an after-hours party for my birthday, it has turned into a very cool reunion for many people to experience the Starck once again. When I was meeting with the planning group, sound, decorators, etc., I was surprised when Chuck and Dino showed up to see the space. They told us amazing stories of the construction of the facility, people that were there, concepts to decorating and kept us all inthrawled in the stories.

After attedning the Silver Anniversary Party this week at the Dali, the documentary at the Angelica, the reading pages of stories in the Dallas Morning News it makes this party even more exciting!

It’s coming together!

April 14th, 2009

The planning day with the people involved, decorator, lighting, security, valet, cater and friends, was made memorable as the original investors, Dino and Chuck, arrived and stayed over an hour and told us all countless stories about the original Starck! What an education about the space, decorators and the concept in planning the space.

I hope to recreate some of the Starck flavor with Starck Red but realize we will NEVER be able to duplicate the ambiance and decor.

Hope you will help spread the word about this memorable night and great cause!

How incredible is it to look at these photos and realize the truly amazing design of the former Starck Club. Clean, modern, sleek – timeless. And, oh, the stories the walls could tell!

Message from Legacy Cottage

April 3rd, 2009

From Melissa at Legacy Cottage:

Legacy is so excited to be a part of Stark Red!

We are honored to receive support from Stark Red, and the very generous Billy Smith. All donations from the event will go directly towards providing much needed mental health and substance abuse counseling and special care housing services to those impacted by HIV/AIDS in the greater Dallas community.

We are looking forward to reliving the STARK experience and getting to hear DJ Blaine and DJ Kimberely S ALL night long!

Now the most important thing . . . . what to wear?

The buzz begins

March 22nd, 2009

It’s been non-stop party planning with much work still ahead, but, wow, how fun has it been remembering everything that was great about STARK CLUB. We are super excited to roll out that red carpet, dance to awesome music the WHOLE night, and roll into the oh-so-sweet refuge of the Cold Bar. We’re spreading the word to bring your me + threes and have fun, fun, fun!
